Dunfermline S1 squad maintain their strong run despite being down to the bare bones.

Squad;
Forwards: Harry McCulloch, Lewis Cook, Kieran Wilson,Thomas Pooley, Sean Ramsay, Jonathan Scott (Capt), Michael Smith.

Backs: Cal Clarke, Aidan Reddick, Euan Colston, Jay Hogg, Sean Clark, Alex McKenzie and Harvey Watson.

Today's game was always going to be tough with the Glenrothes squad being mainly made up of S2 players. The squad were not helped as the players were dropping like flies on the Saturday night, Sunday morning.

The absences had the coaches scratching their head trying to put a team on the park, it raised the question if the boys who played today could put in a good performance in the last game before the tour would they be able to claim a starting place on the tour?

After 40 minutes of rugby the answer was easy! YES!
In what can only be descibed as a good old scrap of a game the younger S1 squad stood toe to toe with some of the bigger and older Glenrothes boys. The boys stuck to the task and kept playing the rugby that saw them through in the end.
There was big performances especially from Thomas Pooley, Jonathan Scott, Aidan Reddick, Euan Colston, Cal Clarke, Jay Hogg and Sean Clark. These boys were asked to step up and step up they did.

Dunfermline took an early lead after a nice move was shipped wide to Sean Clark who opened the scoring in 5 minutes. Glenrothes hit back with a quick double to take the lead.
Dunfermline were always in control at scored a quick double themselves just before halftime through Sean Clark again and Euan Colston, Jonathan Scott Converting the Clark try.
Half time 8-10 to Dunfermline.

The second half saw little in the way of chances to score with the game being stopped too many times for injuries and some talkings to for both players and coaches.
Dunfermline did extend their lead when Sean Ramsay bundled over the line to score after the boys had created a great moved that involved around 6 offloads.
Glenrothes were able to narrow the score line in the 47th minute of the game to make the final score 11-13.

Many thanks to the Glenrothes Players and Coaches for today's game.
Well done to Kieran Wilson, Michael Smith and Harry McCulloch for the way they played today! you may have played your way into a game in Torquay?
