Dunfermline S1's frozen out by Madras for 2nd time in a month.

Twenty players from the Dunfermline S1 squad made the trip to St Andrews for an 11 o'clock kick off against the home side Madras.

The boys were due to play Madras on the 11th of December but the home side cancelled the Sunday game as their players were playing for the school on the Saturday?????

Today was to be different, however the Dunfermline boys were still not to get a game of rugby. With the boys stripped, warmed up and ready to play, two parents from the home side decided that the ground conditions were dangerous and would not allow their boys to play their game.

The ground condition could only be descibed as the same as a typical August day in the Summer (hard in places but taking a stud easily).
It started with 2 players parents but soon spiralled into more, the game was to be called off much to the annoyance of the Dunfermline coaches.

The Madras coaches offered the Dunfermline boys the chance to train on the beach????? in January???? really the beach????.

The coaches from Dunfermline can only apologise to the parents who made the trip to St Andrews, We are aware that your time and the cost of travelling were wasted, and this will be highlighted to the club and the Fife Development Officer at the earliest opportunity.

We are working hard to secure fixtures for the boys and can only hope that next weeks home game against Biggar goes ahead. We appreciate you patients and co-operation today in what again has been a differcult day foe S1 rugby.
