Dunfermline S1 squad ease to a 9 converted try win. Then sneak a 6-3 win in a development team against Biggar. Both games were 15 minutes each half.

This week was to be an early kick off for the boys away to Livingston and Biggar, they were helped slightly by the clocks going back an hour but from the performance of some of the lads they were still in a different time zone. With the increasing number of boys in the S1 squad it is becoming more and more difficult for the coaches to give boys game time. This is mostly down to the oppositions lack of numbers and organisation,it is something we are working on. All we can ask from the players is that they work hard at training and take their chance when it arrives.

Squad,
Forwards: Lewis Cook, Cal Clarke, Jay Hogg, Thomas Pooley, Kieran Twaddle, Jonathan Scott (Capt), Sean Ramsay, Euan Duncan, Kieran Wilson, and Alex Featherstone.

Backs; Aidan Reddick, Ben Dollery, Jackson Moyles, Cameron Symes, Lewis Buchan, Sean Clark, Andrew Waterworth, Kray Hynd , Cameron Shaw and Harvey Watson.

The games were 15 minutes each way and the boys wasted no time getting at the livingston defence from the off, try's were scored in the 1st, 3rd, 5th, 8th and 12 minute, the five try's were converted to give Dunfermline a 20-0 half time lead.

The boys played really well in the first half playing the ball through the hand and running some nice support lines.
That was to be the last of the compliments for the day. The second half was a one side affair, with try's coming in the 16th, 19th, 20th and 25th minute, all 4 trys were sucessfully coverted. The standard of play from the boys in the second half was way below the level the coaches have come to expect and this was made clear to the boys at full time.

In the end a win for the S1 squad, but some of the boys need to relise the bigger picture is to develop as a player and not just winning games of rugby.

The Biggar game followed and it would be fair to say that the Dunfermline squad looked very flat and were showing little or no interest in the game with some players totally forgetting to pass and support the runners. Some of the new boys got a taste of the action albeit very limited due to the lack of structured organisation from the home side. The boys managed to scrape a 6-4 win to keep their unbeaten record run going.
The coaches are working hard with the development boys, however some of these boys need to show a bit more commitment and take more responsibility for their level of performance.

Next week see's the squad head over to Lasswade, let's hope for a better performance all-round.

Saying of the week:
The advantage law is the best law in rugby, because it lets you ignore all the others for the good of the game.
