Today's game was always going to be a one sided affair when Royal High (the home side) turned up with 8 players. The S1 squad were able to give them 3 players, Mark McAdam, Kieran Wilson and Kieran Saunders (thanks lads its not always ideal but it is valuable game time). This meant that the game would be an 11 aside match and this would suit the Dunfermline style of play.
Dunfermline found it hard to get going in the first half letting their game drop to the level of the opposition and finding the length of grass (twice as long as McKane) tiring on the legs. The boys still managed to run in 5 first half try's whilst converting 3 of them.
Half time 0 v 18
The half time break gave the Royal High boys time to take stock and two of them decided they had had enough, Dunfermline's winger Sean Clark played the second half for Royal High and the game was reduced to 10 aside. Dunfermline added a further 4 trys to their total coverting 3 of them. The royal High boys managed to cross the Dunfermline line for a try when a strong run from their centre was met with some poor tackling from the Dunfermline wing that gave the hosts a consolation try.
Final Score: Royal High 3 V 33 Dunfermline S1
Try,s Scorers: Cameron Shaw (3), Thomas Pooley, Jonathan Scott, Sean Clark (2), James Adam and Jay.
Coversions: Ben Dollery (2), Jonathan Scott(4).
Thanks to our hosts today Royal High, now the boys look forwards to next weeks game at home to Crieff. The game will be preceeded with the sponsor cycle so it will be a early night for some next weekend.
Rugby is a good occasion for keeping thirty bullies far from the centre of the city.
