Dunfermline continue their fine winning form with a victory over a plucky Livingston side

The cold weather saaw us take this game to Dunfermline High School, with the McKane pitches unplayable.
Dunfermline opened the scoring from Livingston's kick off, with Euan securing the ball and taking it forward to set up the ruck, then simple hands out to Gregor out on the wing, who ran in from 60m.
A long phase of play after turning Livingston over following a scrum saw Dunfermline threaten down the right, then pass the ball for an attack down the left which Livi defended well. However good rucking and passing saw Kian get just enough space down the middle to score under the posts.
Soon after Dunfermline stole a lineout, Aidan tidied up with an audacious pass between his legs to Andrew, who fed Kian, who ran in a try from deep.
Dunfermline continued to press, looking very threatening when going wide, and a Matt F found some space to score under the posts after a nice handling move, Logan F doing well to keep the ball alive in the middle of it.
It wasn't all one way traffic, a short grubber of a restart was not collected by Dunfermline, and Livi's impressive outside centre gathered and scored down the right wing.
Immediately down the other end, Charlie intercepted, passed to Duncan, then on to Gregor who ran through several tackles to score.
And in an end to end period, Livi immediately pressurised us from the restart. A wayward pass and offside from the clearance kick saw Livi score from the resulting penalty. This was followed by Livi's no. 13 taking the ball from a scrum on halfway, waltzing his way through the Dunfermline defence to score his second.
Then down the other end from the restart. Good pressure and a tackle form Kian saw Livi spill the ball, and an ever eager Gregor collected and scored. Andrew kicked over his 6th conversion.
Livi launched a frantic attack to finish the half, Dunfermline tackling well to hold them out.
Half time - Dunfermline 24 - 10 Livingston

The pace did not slacken in the second half, with Dunfermline attacking from the start, and finally Jack took the ball on Livi's 22 and ran in to score.
Livi scored their 4th try from a scrum, with the no. 13 switching the attack to the blind-side in a planned move, evading the covering defence easily.
From the restart, Livi attacked from deep and were unlucky to concede a penalty for not releasing the ball in the tackle; Finlee's quick tap and pass to Gregor set him to run in for a try from halfway.
Dunfermline attacked again with Kian coming close with a 70m run, offloaded to Andrew in support, who came inches from a score, just losing the ball forward on the line. The next attack saw Kian put in space by a couple of good passes, gaining 50m in territory, and with Duncan and Matthew H involved in taking the ball up, Gregor collected the ball to score in the left corner.
Cold hands were probably the cause for an error-strewn couple of minutes, where Dunfermline failed to exit their half with a series of knock-ons. From one of the scrums Livi decided to repeat their earlier move, and to prove it was no fluke, their no. 13 ran down the blind-side in an identical move to score.
Back to the end to end stuff. Matthew H came close to scoring but was taken backwards by two Livi tacklers; Livi stole the ball and kicked downfield, and in a finish not unlike Byron McGuigan's first try at Murrayfield 24hours earlier, Livi controlled the ball with a few deft kicks and collected for a try.
Dunfermline's next try was well worked from a scrum; a dummy switch with Duncan saw Andrew attack the space nicely, pass to Gregor, who then passed wide to Matthew H, coming into the line from full back. He came close, and popped the ball in the tackle to Gregor, who spun out of a tackle to score. If the try was nice, his conversion - a drop kick from out on the 5m line, which dropped onto the crossbar and over - was even better.
Finally, from an attacking scrum, Livi lost the ball under pressure from Duncan, who picked up and passed to Gregor, who ran in his umpteenth try of the day.
Final score: Dunfermline 42 - 19 Livingston

Thanks to Livingston for the excellent game, played very competitively and a lot closer than the scoreline suggests.
