Under 16s win over Canadians

Dunfermline welcomed the Bill Crothers School under 16s and 18s squads from Ontario, Canada to a dry but windy Mckane friendly this saturday.

The Under 16s match proved to be one which saw Dunfermline dominate territory and possession for long spells but the boys always had to be on their toes against a strong powerful pack and fast backs who counter attacked well.

First half saw Dunfermline play much of the game in the Canadians half but only had an Adam try in the first few minutes to show for their efforts with several chances to score being missed.

Second half saw the boys extend their lead through Jamie, scoring after several good phases of play involving forwards and back. Our visitors worked their way into the game and a period of pressure scored a well deserved try and started pressing for an equalising score. However the closing moments belonged to Dunfermline with three further tries by Brian (2) and Ali and two conversions from Mark scored in the last ten minutes seeing the under 16s record a 29 v 5 win.

Overall a hard fought game with both teams looking to play rugby which was really enjoyable to watch.
