An close hard fought eight try encounter sees the visitors takes the spoils by a conversion

As McKane was frosted we played for the first time at the new pitch at the high school.

Dunfermline dominated the opening stages however despite several near misses couldnt convert their chances and were hit by a sucker punch breakaway for the first Blairgowrie score. Dunfermline responded well and scored their first through Adam. However Blairgowrie proved to be a good side by defending well at the breakdown and through their own pressure added a second before half time when missed tackles in the middle by Dunfermline allowed Blairgowrie to move ball wide and run a try in down the wing. HT 5 v 12

Dunfermline started the second half well and scored an excellent try through Danny after several good offloads. A failure to deal with the restart allowed Blairgowrie to win the ball back and their strong running 12 evaded the defence again to put the visitors back in front.

The game now was being played more and more in between the 10 metres with each side scrapping for every ball. After several good drives into the visitors 22, Dunfermline added their third try from Cal from a tap penalty short of the line.

Back came Blairgowrie who got the decisive score with another powerful run by their 12 in the closing minutes giving the visitors a 9 point lead. Dunfermline though continued to press hard and Adam scored of a crash ball with a minute to go to get back to two points behind. A final attack from deep within our half to within their 22 almost resulted in a try but a knock on saw the ref blow up for full time.

In the end an excellent game of rugby. It was disappointing to lose espcially after the effort the boys put in but there were plenty positives to take from the game and build on.

Thankyou to Blairgowrie for the game, to all who came along to shout on the boys and the catering team for afterwards. We look forward to heading north for the rematch in the new year.

Next week should see us at Grangemouth, watch out for details from Davie. Training is on Wednesday at Woodmill.
