At half-time the Moray/Huntly outfit had a four-point lead, 21-17. But Dunfermline pulled it back in the second half and it was a last minute try from scrum-half Russell Allan, that sealed their fate as the U15 Plate winners.

Boys U16 Bowl: Kirkcaldy 14 Dunfermline 22

It was a battle of the Fifers in the Boys U16 Bowl as Kirkcaldy faced Dunfermline. The opening half was tightly contested, but Kirkcaldy had a two-point lead (7-5). However, Dunfermline managed to bring it back with the full-time score settled at 14-22.

Speaking after the event, club President, Kev Storie said: “It was an absolutely fantastic day in Aberdeen, with lots of great rugby on show, in particular from our very own U15 and U16 Boys.

“Both games were extremely competitive, and the teams had to dig deep to secure the win in the second half. They showed inspirational mental and physical resilience to make the comeback.

“I’d like to share my sincere thanks to our coaches who helped these young players not only reach the final, but excel and thrive in this competition. The future of Dunfermline Rugby Club is looking really strong, and it’s been a fantastic note to end the season on adding more silverware to the cabinets at McKane. Everyone at the club is really proud of their achievements.”
