Today's match ball was sponsored by Aidan Symes, younger brother of S1 Centre Cammy Symes. The picture below shows Aidan presenting the match ball to Dunfermline S1 captain Jonathan Scott. Aidan led the boys in a chorus of Flower of Scotland before the kick off. It was to be a good day for the Symes brothers with Cammy scoring 4 try's in the match. The Players and Coaches would like to thank Aidan for sponsoring today's match ball.

Today's game saw Dunfermline score 10 try's with Jonathan Scott converting 8 with a least three hitting team manager Tom's car who was also today's referee. The match started with the boys getting off to an uncharacteristic start scoring 4 try's in the first 6 minutes of the game, Cammy Symes running in 2 and setting up Andrew to finish under the posts. The 4th try was a strong run from Sean Ramsay would went through the Heriot's defence as if they were not there.
By this time the coaches were asking the boys to pass the ball around a bit more instead of the direct running that had led to the first four try's, but this was to fall on deaf ears and the game was to turn into a bit of a mis-match.
The 5th try was again scored by Cammy Symes in the 16th minute, he was finding gaps in the Heriot's denfensive line far too easily. A minute later and Sean Clark was getting in on the act scoring from a turn over and running half the lenght of the pitch to score. Sean Ramsay scored his second try of the game and to be honest all 7 try's in the first half were carbon copies of each other.

Half time: Dunfermline 27 V 0 Heriot's

The coaches had a chat with the boys about the lack of quality that they were showing and explained that they have to move the ball about more and bring others into the game, However once again it would fall on deaf ears and the second half turned out to be very frustrating for the coaches as time and time again the boys would take the ball into coantact when options were available on both sides. There were 3 more try's added from Cammy Symes, Cameron Shaw who scored with his first touch when coming on as sub, and Sean Clark who rapped up the scoring.
The final score ended up 38-0 with the pleasing part being the fact that the Dunfermline boys were able to keep Heriot's out and prevent them from scoring at all.

The development game was played for the last 20 minutes and there was some good passing moves which was encouraging for the players and coaches. The highlight of the game was Aidan Reddicks conversion when he slotted his kick through the posts. Afterwards the groundsman was seen winding the crossbar back up to the correct height.

After the game the players enjoyed pie, beans and a drink in the clubhouse, a BIG thank you too all the mums who helped in the kitchen, also a BIG thanks to Jenna, Katie, Elliann and Rhea for raising some funds for the squad by selling their cakes, they made £21, well done girls.
Next week the boys entertain Murrayfield Wanderers at McKane park and hopefully they will all bring their passing heads with them.
Well done today boys but remember its a team game!

On trying to stop Phil Horrocks-Taylor-Every time I went to tackle him, Horrocks went one way, Taylor went the other, and all I got was the bloody hyphen.
